Medical Detox Resources

Medical Detox Resources

We highly recommend all clients undergo a full medical evaluation regardless of the substance they are reducing or stopping. However, when it comes to alcohol and benzodiazepine class medications it is critical. Stopping or reducing these suddenly can be life-threatening. Here are some of the medical detox resources my clients have used with great success. If you feel you are experiencing acute withdrawal symptoms reducing or stopping any substance you should proceed to your nearest emergency room or dial 911.

Dr. Ken Starr, Outpatient Medical Detox

Located in Arroyo Grande, California, Dr. Ken Starr offers full outpatient detoxification services. No list of addiction resources in California would be complete without him. If you do not live in the area, you can arrange to see him by telehealth. He is compassionate, caring, and reasonably priced. Dr. Starr also offers cutting-edge NAD infusion treatments and a customized line of supplements that provide many benefits for those detoxing from drugs or alcohol.

Gallus Detox, Inpatient Medical Detox

Located near Phoenix, Arizona, Gallus Detox offers complete medical detoxification services with private rooms and expert care around the clock. ER nurses and doctors ensure you have the most pleasant and safe detox possible. One of our favorite teams of people in the addiction treatment industry! While they are located in Arizona and not California, we list them because you will be hard-pressed to find such a great inpatient medical detox in California. The quick 90-minute flight from most airports in California is worth it. They meet you at the airport and drive you to the detox center. They do work with some insurance plans.
