Group Therapy - California
Group therapy is a form of therapy in which a small number of people meet together under the guidance of a professionally trained therapist or counselor. Group therapy has been in use for over 50 years and group members help themselves as well as one another. Our services are backed by our 100% money-back guarantee.
At O'Brien & Associates, we have created specialized groups for clients seeking help with specific problems. We offer group therapy addressing anxiety, substance abuse, and trauma. Our clinicians use evidence-based therapies to help our clients effectively address their problems.
Our clients participate in group therapy sessions by video from their home or office using Zoom. Groups meet weekly and we limit our group sizes so that clients have adequate time to address their issues. Group therapy is voluntary, we do not require any of our clients to participate in group therapy, but our clinicians may suggest it if they believe you would benefit from the group. Each group lasts approximately 90-minutes.
Group Costs & Insurance:
The fee for each group is $50.00. We are not in-network with any insurance company, however, you may submit superbills to your insurance company for group therapy. Clients with PPO insurance plans may be reimbursed for their group therapy costs in accordance with the terms of their policy. Read more about submitting an insurance claim.
How To Enroll In A Group:
If you are an existing client of O'Brien & Associates, your clinician can enroll you in a group. Please speak with them and discuss your interest in joining a group.
If you are not an existing client of O'Brien & Associates, please complete the enrollment form below.
What Happens During The Enrollment Process:
Once you have completed the group enrollment form, or your clinician has requested you be enrolled in a group, the group therapist will review the information provided to make sure you are appropriate for the group. If you are not an existing client, you will meet with one of our therapists by phone for a brief 15-minute screening. There is no cost for the screening. The purpose of the screening is to make sure you are appropriate for the group and would benefit from participation.
If you are accepted to the group, you will be notified of your acceptance, and provided with instructions on how to complete the necessary paperwork. Once your paperwork has been completed, you will be officially enrolled in the group and will receive information on how to participate in the group, what to expect in the group, and the group rules.
