Have you struggled with behaviors that you seemed in control of at first, but now they control you? Many people experiment with things that seem fun, and can be for a while, like alcohol or drugs. But over time they stop being a way to enjoy yourself, and become the thing that makes you miserable. Others may not struggle with substances, but have trouble changing old habits, or starting new ones they know would make their life better. As an addictions counselor, I help adults and adolescents who struggle with dependencies and related problems. And as a behavioral coach I help with developing new routines that improve health and happiness.

People don’t operate in a bubble. Our family, communities, and cultural background all influence our environment and overall wellness. I keep this in mind as we develop strategies to help with whatever you’re going through. I use techniques like motivational interviewing, interpersonal therapy, and coaching to help you reach your goals.

I know it can seem as if you’ll never be able to change your behaviors. You may have tried for years. While it’s a challenge, it can be done. With the right support and experience, you can better understand the core of your struggles, and how to change them. I offer my training and expertise to help you do just that. Contact me today to get started.

I earned my master's degree in Counseling and Student Personnel at San Jose State University. As a Registered Alcohol and Drug Technician (RADT), I have completed my Master’s Degree and am acquiring my hours for full licensure. I am also a certified behavioral coach. I provide services through my employer BetterPsych, under the supervision of a Kevin Kuhlow, LAADC, MS.
